NICOLE LEITH
Nicole is entering her final undergraduate year at the University of British Columbia in which she is completing her BSc degree majoring in Biology. Nicole’s future plans include pursuing a career in medicine with a focus on sports medicine stemming from her involvement as a high performance and competitive athlete in both figure skating and junior professional ballet. Nicole is currently volunteering with sports medicine expert Dr. Sara Forsyth to gain further experience in the assessment and treatment of female athletes who may be experiencing physical and, or psychological dysfunction related to their sport. Nicole has garnered valuable exposure working within the healthcare system during the Covid-19 pandemic. She worked for the Fraser Health Authority as a Patient Screener at the Royal Columbian Hospital, and as a Clerk at several Covid-19 Immunization and Testing sites.

For the last 2 years, Nicole has filled the role of creative director on the executive team of the Acne Education Project, a non-profit student led organization at UBC that strives to educate youth on proper acne management. Alongside her team with the Acne Education Project, she was selected by the Canadian Dermatology Association to receive the 2022 CDA Public Education Award in the Not-for-profit category. Nicole also has a keen interest in leadership, and currently is the Vice President of Operations for Alpha Delta Pi, an all-women’s organization that fundraises for the British Columbia and Yukon sectors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHBC). In 2022, Nicole worked with members to raise over $22,000 for RMHBC.
